Okay a lot of people have been here and we'll all tell you the same thing. It's amazing, wonderful and unique. Awe inspiring! Treat yourself well though, take the first class train for this once and a lifetime trip.
Let there be no confusion, the Machu Picchu is amazing! However be aware that the later you go, the more tourist you will have. Try to go as early as you can in the morning to avoid the big crowd and to get those beautiful pictures you always wanted.
Having the opportunity to travel in Peru you must do Machu Picchu. It has an incredible location in these tropical mysterious mountains and such an interesting history. Also in a very good state and with (optional) guides that know the background of this ruin till the smallest details. I went in low season (beginning of February) and in the second turn (starting from 11h) and had a good time without many people. We stayed until closing time and had Machu Picchu almost for our ourselves!
One of the most beautiful wonders of the world. The history of the place and the story behind its discovery are very interesting. The beautiful landscape and the amazing location are added attractions.
The most beautiful site. Try and get there as early as you can to see the sun ride (I believe first entrance is at 6am). It's not as packed, perfect for photo ops. At around 9am it gets way too packed with tourists.
